In many ways, we consider our relationship and path to where we are today destiny.

Originally meeting through mutual friends in 2010, we decided to start dating after only knowing each other a short time. Courtney was living in Indianapolis and I was living in Dallas, but we had immediate chemistry. Several flights back and forth through the next several months ensued, and we have so many great memories with each other in those early times. However, the distance and being quite young took its toll, and we decided to go our separate ways. We always remained friends after that, and kept in touch sporadically over the next several years. Courtney moved to New Jersey, and the two of us carried on with our lives. In all honesty, I continued to have feelings for Courtney in the years that followed. I would message her from time to time, just to check in and see how life was going. I don’t think either one of us thought we would be a significant part of each other’s lives ever again, but it was nice to remain friends even if it was at a distance.

Fast forward over a decade later to August of 2021. Courtney was coming to Dallas and this time it was her that reached out to me to meet up. It’s funny how life works ;). We met up that weekend and picked up right where we had left off so many years before. I actually flew out to NYC two days after she left Dallas just to take her on a date and see her for a couple of days. Everything felt right again, and over the next several months we dated long distance. It became clear that we needed to be in the same city in order for our relationship to reach its full potential. We both knew we had something special together. In May of 2022, Courtney moved to Dallas and we have been inseparable ever since.

Through the last several years, we’ve made countless amazing memories, laughed, smiled, both sides of our families have become one, and our hearts have been filled with love for each other that I don’t think either one of us ever imagined would happen.

In May of 2024, I asked Courtney to marry me. It’s the best day of our lives and the best decision we’ve both ever made to say “yes”. Our lives, and our destinies, have been intertwined for 14 years now, and we didn’t even know it.

This is our story, and we can’t wait to celebrate our special day with all of our family and friends on October 10, 2025. It will be a day that we will never forget and another memory to add to our amazing journey together. We love you all and look forward to seeing you!
